  • Starting the 2023 School Year Off Right!

    Funded Jul 2, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity with funding this project. My goal was to start the school year off right and having the supplies to do that from the very start made a huge difference. For example, having bins to store materials have been so helpful to stay organized.

Additionally, being able to match my theme with eucalyptus borders added a sense of calm and beauty to our classroom. The markers have been so helpful for anchor charts and the phonics games will be so useful as soon as we start learning CVC words. I am so excited to introduce such a fun learning activity!

Again, thank you so much for your support. We appreciate it so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rachel

  • Mid-Year Necessities

    Funded Jan 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my project. Your money has gone to buying important necessities, like dry erase markers, prizes, phonics games, and Play-Doh. All of these items are used, almost daily, to make learning fun and engaging. The kids love using their markers to practice writing sentences and words on their dry-erase boards. They also use the Play- Doh as a tool for learning (math especially), as well as a sensory outlet during brain breaks. Phonics games have been a helpful tool for small groups and prizes are a huge motivator and added bonus. Thank you so much again for making such a difference in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rachel

  • Kindergarten, Here We Go!

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you so much for taking the time to donate to this project. My students use the cozy corner every day as a place to enjoy quiet time, read a book, or socialize with friends. It makes such a difference to have this space this year, especially since this was not possible for our students last year.

My students were elated to discover the prize box/stickers they can get as rewards! Every week they use their "reward bucks" to buy something they choose. This creates a culture of excitement and pride in their hard work and efforts. Thank you for that.

As for the lap desks, they are a wonderful addition to our classroom this year. They offer a comfortable space to have small groups, etc. In the pictures, you will see two students using the lap desk for our "book store" that we had after we finished our first reading unit. The kids were so proud to publish their books and "sell" them to each other. As you can see, they are incredibly versatile and useful for a variety of purposes.

Again, we appreciate everything you've done for us!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rachel

  • Moved to Learn!

    Funded Feb 7, 2022

I want to personally thank you so much for your generosity last school year. The students were incredibly excited when they find out we got new materials for the classroom, especially those seat cushions!

We used them for times like small group work, story time, and reading time. It was so good for the students to be able to move around and have flexible seating, especially during such a complicated time, such as the pandemic. It was a breath of fresh air to be able to offer that freedom and comfort to them.

The prizes, playdough, etc. were also used throughout the year. The children were so motivated by them, so I thank you for helping us incorporate ways to engage them in a fun and exciting way. The playdough was an excellent way for the children to decompress and take "brain breaks" while being creative with an open-ended material.

    We can't thank you enough.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rachel

Kindergarten is a huge step for children and it comes with higher academic and behavioral expectations. COVID has only made that transition more challenging. I am hoping to create more opportunities for my students to move around the classroom comfortably and safely for small group work (reading, phonics, etc). My goal is to create a calm and encouraging environment that caters to the whole child. Children need breaks, positive reinforcement, and creative outlets. Play-doh is a good outlet for brain breaks and prizes will motivate them and reward their efforts.
