Chess is such a great game of skill and forward thinking. I want to teach my students how to play to stimulate a higher level of thinking and stratagem. This kind of thinking helps as they work through math problems. The Lego set and marble run will also help develop that deeper thinking. My students are also in need of organizational materials to help with their reading. Book bins and binders help keep their materials organized to ensure they always having reading materials like books, word lists, and decodables. Reading strips and word building tiles will help them focus on decoding words, and headphones are to be used with their Chromebook during reading rotations.
