My students have been affected by the pandemic in a variety of ways. Some are feeling lonely from the separation, some were affected by severe disease, and others by a parents lost job and economic instability. In our journalism class, we are trying to help all students connect with each other by showcasing students and their experiences and also helping to memorialize and remember this unique experience. If we can share our stories through pictures and words, we can find ways to heal from the mental and emotional trauma that this pandemic has caused and realize that we all have been affected by these challenges and we can learn and heal together.
