Social-emotional learning is so key right now for the students I work with. So many of them are struggling with anxiety which is partly due to difficulty building and maintaining social connections during this pandemic. The sensory items will be used to create anxiety reduction kits to help students calm down when their emotions are overwhelming and they need a break. The books and games will be used with individual students, small groups, and classes to teach and practice social skills and build connections with adults and other students in the building.
