Having a classroom that promotes social-emotional wellness and academic learning is important to me, especially as these elementary students navigate new waters during a pandemic. Getting these requested supplies will help my students meet their needs in a variety of ways. All my students are on different levels and I like to have engaging books that they can escape into! There is nothing better than seeing a student clutch onto a book and want to keep reading it. This year, our school implemented a new math program. I am noticing a huge need for having math manipulatives. The program really teaches students to have a conceptual understanding and I would love to give them more hands-on activities to support the conceptual visual understanding. Lastly, I would love to add more games that give my students a chance to be collaborative and work together. We have a lot of inside recess days with the weather. My students love to play these games and use the collaborative skills that we discuss in class.
