We are a 1-to-1 district, with all students having their own iPads. To support differentiation in my classroom and accommodate students with learning disabilities, I like to give students opportunities to watch short videos or listen to podcasts on their own so they can pause and go back when necessary. Many students also benefit from having things read to them. Having that play out loud in class can be a deterrent as it draws attention to the student. Headphones would allow any student who needs or prefers to listen to a reading we're completing to do so without any fuss. Styluses will help my students bring back their creativity. Using iPads, students have so many opportunities to create and be artistic. Styluses are a huge help. I don't want my students to only focus on the learning loss they've encountered because of Covid- I want them to come to class knowing they will be able to learn and show their knowledge in a way that's best for them. I have also included a caddy to store the headphones and a caddy for the styluses to help me manage these new tools. I also requested a large tapestry map, timeline, and funny poster to help make my classroom a place students are happy to be and help us when talking about various historical events. One of the best things about being at school in-person is the hands-on work! I am in need to more markers. A rolling cart to help me distribute and organize these new supplies. A charging station because we use our iPads so much. Lastly, some fun stickers to give as prizes and incentives in class. Thank you!
