I have chosen different items from Lakeshore Learning to give my Kindergarten students a more hands on approach to learning. A child has the best chance to learn as a Kindergartner through play, and manipulatives will help them stay engaged in their learning. The donations I have chosen will have a direct impact on my students curiosity and excitement in their learning! I have chosen specific wobble stools for those students who need their bodies to wiggle a little, but also need to stay seated at their desks during different times of the day. These wobble chairs are just the right height for my learners to reach their feet to the floor, but will allow them to continue to learn at their tables with the rest of their classmates when we need to be at our tables. I have also picked out many hands on activities that will help the students learn through play and by using their hands during morning or centers times. These activities are critical to a child's first exposure to learning because it helps them to get excited and stay engaged in their learning their first year in the classroom! I have also chosen double sided white boards that will help my students as they learn to write letters, and as they start to write words and sentences on lines. I know my Kindergarten learning detectives will thrive with the materials I have requested to help them stay engaged in their learning!
