  • STEM: Growing Gardeners

    Funded Nov 14, 2024

Your donation has impacted our garden and its gardeners in great ways. We now have the tools to work comfortably in the garden. We have had opportunity to plant and harvest. The rake and hand tools helped us maintain our garden, and the tool rack gave us a place to store our tools. Our student gardeners appreciate their gloves. They help them to feel more comfortable when they are working in the dirt. Thank you for contributing to our student gardeners experience.

Each time we enter the garden, students remark on how much they love coming to the garden. They know that they are the gardeners. Our garden only prospers when our gardeners arrive to use their tools to benefit the plants in our garden. The plants thrive because the gardeners know how to test the soil for moisture/ PH/ light. They know how to add nutrients to the soil. Your generous donation has taken our gardening experience to the next level.”

  • Comfortable Class Seating for my Scholars!

    Funded Sep 19, 2024

Our scholars felt seen and heard when they received your donations. Their seat cushions made for a more comfortable place to sit. This enhanced their abilities to focus and attend to their lessons during class. There was an audible sigh of relief when they received their seat cushions. They showed their appreciation by immediately putting the cushions to use. They use them on their stools at their desks as well is on the floor during carpet time. Thank You for making our students feel valued. Their smiles and sighs of comfort said it all! Thank You!”

  • MES Mural Project

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Your donation of paint and paint supplies has sparked our garden mural initiative. We wanted to create a fun space for students to plant and maintain their garden. Our students love working in our garden year round. The mural has enhanced their garden space, making it a fun place where our students want to be. Thank you for helping us make this happen. Both students and staff are benefiting from your generosity!

Your donation has had an effect on my classroom, the afterschool reading/gardening club, and the numerous other K-8 classrooms that visit the garden throughout the week. Our staff also visit the garden to harvest any fruit or vegetables ready for harvest. All have been positively impacted by your donation to our garden. Anyone who steps into the garden immediately sees the mural created with your donation. It takes their breath away! What an impact your donation has made to our school community!

Our district has come out to photograph the mural and interview myself and the artists! Our entire school district community has now been impacted by your donation! Thank You!”

  • Gardening Without Dirt!

    Funded Nov 25, 2023

Thank you for giving my students such an awesome science experience! Everyday my students run over to see what is possible with Aquaponics and Hydroponics. My students have gotten in the habit of daily looking for changes.

In the beginning my students had never heard of Aquaponics or Hydroponics. They did not know or understand that plants can be grown any other way other than outdoors where we are at the mercy of the weather and climate changes.

Your donation to our class has added many opportunities for my students to observe and ask questions about seeds and the germination process. My students have been engaged with this project! Their questions and excitement about the changes they see have been very encouraging for me. Learning opportunities are all around us. Thank you for providing this great learning experience!”

  • Let's Get Moving While We Learn!

    Funded May 18, 2023

Your gift of earphones has improved the amount of time and focus my students can attend when completing a computer lesson. The earphones allow them to be able to listen clearly during their independent computer learning time.

The football blowup Target and footballs have given my students the equipment they need to make those moves that are necessary to refocus . They provide great brain breaks in between lessons.

Our summer reading program was a tremendous hit! I was able to meet up with students one on one and in small groups to provide extra lessons and support in Phonics because of your gift of ear phones. Every student had their own pair. The footballs and the touchdown blowup provided the brain break they needed to regroup and refocus! Thank You for making this possible.”

  • Hands On Math And Science

    Funded Jul 26, 2022

Your generosity is making it possible for my students to be well prepared for engaging, innovative math and science lessons built around collaboration, observation, and dialogue. I believe that students learn best when they are listening, thinking, doing, observing, and asking questions. The materials you have provided will encourage my students to learn and grow from each other in math and science. Thank You for your interest and generosity!”

  • Stories that look like me…

    Funded Jan 9, 2022

My students have benefited greatly from your donations. They have enjoyed hearing all of the stories representing different cultures and their families. Each day they get to hear these stories read out loud to them. Then the books are put out for students to read on their own. My students were eager to choose books about families that look like them. They would carry the books to their desks and take their time reading through them.

One day I was reading about a child and her grandfather fishing. The grandfather was Asian. Immediately one of my Cambodian students said, "My grandpa and I do that!" I cannot tell you how this warmed my heart.

Another time, I was reading about a girl cooking Pancit with her mother. Immediately a child who doesn't speak often, spoke up and said, "We do that at my house." She was the only one in our class that had cooked Pancit before.

Finally, I had a boy who couldn't wait to hear the book about "soccer". This child is an avid soccer player and fan. His weekends are full of practices and games. His uncle is a professional player. Hearing a book about "soccer" made him feel special.

I could go on and on...

Every one of my students found a story that they could relate to! Thank you for making these experiences possible. All of my students recognized their special place in our society. They are all important, and they all matter. I am glad they got to experience this valuable lesson with me. Your donations made this possible for them. I am forever grateful...”

  • "Summer School Support for Everyone!"

    Funded May 5, 2022

We did it! Now my students will have a tool to practice their academic skills in all subject areas in preparation for the next school year. This summer my students will be able to use this tool to sharpen their academic skills in their own home environments. Extra time to practice this summer is just what my students need. Thank you for your generosity towards my class. I know that it will impact them positively as they continue to grow in their academic skill levels. My students understand that everyone can learn. They just may not have learned it yet.”

  • Impressionist Art Desktop Workspace

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Your donation has had a tremendous impact on my class! The Pandemic has made school a very different place to be. Whereas previously we had numerous outside visitors and programs to break up the the constant challenge of academic growth experiences, now there are no outside vendors or visitors allowed on campus. Masks must be worn at all times indoors and students had to remain distant from one another. This created environment of limitations, and very little expressions of freedom.

Your donation allowed me to offer my students opportunities to express themselves freely and take a much needed break from the rigorous academic growth experiences being offered everyday. Upon seeing the art desktop easels and art supplies, my students were giddy with excitement. Each time I announced an opportunity for them to use these materials there was always an aura of excitement and an anticipation of a relaxed time to create and express themselves freely. You could literally feel and hear the change in the atmosphere. Every student was engaged and involved. There was quiet focus with creativity everywhere. When I would look around, I could feel their contentment and satisfaction. It was the highlight of their day. Their creative expressions never ceased to amaze me.

Thank You for providing us the materials needed to create this positive social emotional experience. It was successful because it provided a satisfying social emotional experience and fulfilled each student's need for creative expression. This was both a reward and motivation to work harder on their academics. Every student achieved growth academically due to hard work and motivational breaks of creativity and self expression. THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hastings

  • The Colorful Emotional Expressive Art Experience

    Funded Jul 23, 2021

My students are creating and expressing themselves through painting with the tools you provided! They are creating meaningful expressions of emotions through art.

My students were so excited when they saw that they were supplied with tools to create and express themselves. One student shyly expressed to me that painting helps her to remain calm and get through the day.

Painting has become an emotional outlet for my students. A place where they can center themselves and express how they feel.

We have discussed how artists have used color to express their emotions. Vincent Van Gogh was highlighted and his art observed.

Now my students are expressing their emotions through their paintings! Thank you for supporting my students by providing the materials to make this happen!

We will continue to learn about the use of colors and how they help us express emotion, while creating colorful paintings.”
