We have found that our students thrive when they "do". I would like to provide them with more opportunities to manipulate things with hands on opportunities while they are learning math and literacy. These hands on centers will give my young students the opportunity to engage and progress academically. They will help fill gaps as we work together in small groups. My students will work collaboratively with each other as most are designed to be done with others. This social aspect has been missing for so many kids as they have navigated quarantines and canceled events. Kindergarten is definitely an age where these basic skills are learned and must be practiced to be internalized. These hands on activities will give them the means to practice.
