Flexible seating is a great option to help my students who have different learning needs than others in the classroom. My students currently only have their seats to stay in when doing independent activities, but with flexible seating, they are able to choose from a variety of options to help keep them engaged! Students learn in so many different ways and I want to give them the best opportunity to do so. STEM materials are also a way to help them do this. STEM bins give my students new ways to work through problems and challenge themselves to open their minds outside of the box. New classroom materials also help me give my first graders a better opportunity to show their work and ideas in a variety of ways, such as using math games, magnetic letters to spell, white boards, and lots of other new learning tools!
