Many of my students have limited resources at home and depend on guardians to provide for them. In order for my students to understand the science content, we use multiple manipulatives that the students can use to make connections to the science content. My students need science manipulatives to help with science learning, and connections.Throughout the school year, I use personal funds to buy and create manipulates to bring science to my students. Extensive research indicates that manipulatives in the science classroom are tools that can increase the understanding and knowledge of concepts through hands-on instruction. Manipulatives increase students' engagement and response to cognitive demand as they make connections, predictions and justifications based on observation. In turn, the students become more confident learners.
