In my automotive electrical class the students build their own Bluetooth speaker box. The students have to do all of the problem solving steps to create a Bluetooth speaker. Students use the ohms law, watts law, series circuits as well as parallel circuits, and they have to measure voltage drop and work on the building and reading of schematics. By working out all of the electrical issues themselves it builds a sense of pride in the students when they have completed the speaker. They are able to take this knowledge and apply it directly to an automotive electrical system. After completing this assignment they are able to bring this project home and share what they have learned with their family and friends.
