Improve Student Reading Comprehension
Funded Jul 20, 2023Thank you for your donations. My students benefit so much from this resource. The students use them on a daily basis. It helps them read and comprehend the text. We take very thorough notes with the reading passages. We read the questions together and go over the choices of information to choose from. This is a quick activity for us to use during the day that helps us prepare all the standards for three grade in regard to comprehension. Thank you again for these journals. The students say all the time that they enjoy the activities and the structures provided in these journals.”

End Of The Year Gift For Students!
Funded Apr 11, 2023The students were so excited by the books they got. We had connected it to third grade angels that we read in the beginning of the school year. They couldn't wait to read them over the summer. They still talk about it now when I see them in 4th grade.
This has been a great gift to give students. I was able to write each student a small message to each student. This was a great token to end the year. Each child felt important and will enjoy the book tremendously. One they won't ever forget.
Thank you”

Keep Kids Hydrated, Back to School Gift
Funded Sep 8, 2022The water bottles and bottle brushes were a great success. The kids felt it was a thoughtful gift. They knew they would need it for PE and class time when they are thirsty. The water bottles came in different colors and I wrapped them in a bag. I also threw in there a fun looking pop it toy. They can use the bottle brushes in class if they need to clean their bottles. This allows them the freedom to fill up their water bottle in class and does not disturb class time when they constantly ask to go out to the water fountain. Thank you for your great donations!”

For the Love of Reading
Funded Sep 7, 2022My students have been doing a great job with reading at home. I have been encouraging as much reading as possible. With the reading log and fluency pages, my students are doing so much better with their phonics and fluency skills. They practice at home and are able to keep track on their reading log every night. They answer different questions about the book each night. With this they are remembering what they read and it helps with their reading comprehension. Also too the fluency pages have been helping the students practice reading a loud and speeding up the time it takes them to read a passage.”

Social-Emotional Supports and Learning
Funded Jun 30, 2022The resources I have been able to find for my class are great. These resources guide me to help students with their emotional and mental states. These lessons require the participation of these students to identify feelings, express themselves and think of strategies to help them with circumstances. I like lessons that I can follow because this is not a specialty of mine. The lessons guide what you can say and how to describe things to the students. It also provides activities that you can do with the students. Thank you so much for your donation.”

Funded May 5, 2022Thank you for funding this project. I have been looking for the best stuff I can find about reading and writing. I was able to find some great writing graphic organizers that will help the writing we do in class. It gave me several different note taking documents to use. I also found some reading logs. These reading logs help students keep track of the reading they do at home and at school. They can take notes on the books they read and answer comprehension questions. This is great practice for students. Thank you so much!!!”

Show Off Hard Work
Funded May 6, 2022This project was wonderful and I am so grateful it was funded. The expo markers are always so useful and the kids desperately needed them. We use them for practicing spelling, for drawing out math problems and checking for understanding. The students also used the pastels in their art work. The artwork is always displayed on the wall for everyone to enjoy. There are so many great art projects on the horizon that I want us to do. The three pole punch is quick and easy to use. The kids use it for papers that go in their binders. Thank you so much from us all.”

Conquering Common Core Reading!
Funded May 19, 2022This project was such a great thing for my students this year. I ordered the comprehension journals for my students and they were all very excited to have their own journals. The students wrote their names on the front. They have them in their desk all week because we use them everyday. The open up to the first page of the week we are on and we read together as a group the passage provided. After we read we discuss words we are unsure of, text structures and concepts they are unknown to them. Once the background knowledge is done, we highlight important details. They decide what the topic and main idea is and then highlight it. We find supporting details in the paragraphs that follow. I really like that all the paragraphs are numbered. It makes it easier for us to find answers and cite where we found them. Everyday for the rest of the week, the students work on each days activity that goes with the article. This is great review of reading concepts they need to know throughout the entire year!”
