COVID-19 forces students to work at home with little or no notice. Trying to stay self motivated while struggling to understand assignments, feeling isolated from teachers and peers, and dealing with illness all contribute to many students falling behind. When students are back in class, they are ready to work and have teachers to help, but teachers are also overwhelmed with the need. Teachers can create instructional videos for students to watch at their own pace, but students need quality headphones available to use. Not only will headphones create an opportunity for students to add voice over to future projects, it will allow students to work through missed assignments in class.
