Covid 19 upended traditional learning and many students were left in unstable situations. Students or their teachers missed school and students lost learning time. Maker Spaces teach students to take ownership of their own learning in a space where they are safe to experiment, try and try again. Maker Spaces reinforces the idea that learning comes from perseverance. Failure is a lesson, not an end. Maker Spaces inspire curiosity and interest in learning. Learning a concept by trying it is a safe way to engage with new ideas. The focus shifts from lectures and tests to students investigating concepts and skills on their own with the necessary tools. Students can work with others to problem-solve and explore new solutions. Some Maker Space materials can be checked-put and students can explore ideas at home.
