Flexible seating allows students to choose what works best for them. Many times during the day, my students are allowed to chose where they do their independent work. Sitting in a hard, rigid chair all day is not natural for any child. Children know what they need and generally make the right choices or how and where to work. My students are more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given choices of how to sit and where to work. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The wobble chairs will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. Without the wobble chairs or flexible seating options, students often try to wiggle in their standard chairs by leaning them back, which is not safe. The rocker chairs can be moved around the room and used to rock or lay back while reading and working. I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and behavior and hope that the additional options will help us continue to learn!
