I love to have students do math with me during lessons. However, I have found that paper does not work great because students try to write very small so that they don't run out. Instead, I have used white boards where students can use the whole space to write one problem then erase it to start another. However, although this works, the white boards become messy and the markers don't always work. I have also spent hundreds of dollars over the years in dry erase markers. Writing pads are a solution I have come up with to have all the benefits the white boards bring for doing math without the negatives. With the pads, we do away with the messy and expensive dry erase markers while at the same time keep the ability to do and erase single math problems on a large working surface.
