Legos and BricQ will make a huge difference in my students learning. Our world has gone very technical. We use technology on a minute by minute basis. The world our students are growing up into is surrounded by technology. In order to prepare them for the careers of the future they will need a solid foundation in a variety of technology! Students need to have experience with coding and various other technology applications. Legos will give them the start they need to expand their understanding in these applications. They will get to explore using hands on manipulatives. This is extremely important for students in Title I schools, especially after the financial and educational effects of COVID. They do not have these resources available to them outside of school, and with many of them not attending face to face school for over a year, thats a huge deficit. Also, they lost all of that time for hands on learning by following COVID regulations about not sharing items and social distancing. I want to provide them with as many learning opportunities as I can. As an educator, it is my responsibility to adequately prepare these students regardless of their economic status. We have a lot to make up for due to COVID school closures.
