Give Students a Voice Using Headsets!
Funded Jan 21, 2022I am very grateful for these wonderful headsets that are enhancing our learning at school as well as for those who are learning from home at times. The first activity we did using these new headsets was with using an app called "flipgrid." Students were able to record themselves reading their opinion writing from the day before. Students were so excited to be able to get onto a chrome book and because our new head sets have microphones, they were able to record themselves reading their opinion writing After they completed the recording, students were able to listen not only to their own story, but to all their peers in the classroom as well and give each other recorded feedback. Even those doing at home learning could participate and see all of their classmates videos as well.
This gift of headphones to our classroom is so exciting because they it allows students to interact with one another via technology. It allows them to give considerate feedback to one another-even if students are quite able to type yet, they can record their voice. Finally, it is so motivating for students to be able to see and hear themselves.
All students have warmed to this technology and are excited to use it daily. Thank you for this wonderful gift!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Phelps
