As a new special education teacher, I am looking for materials to help my students succeed in their education. For me, this means that I am beginning with limited access to materials and am working to build my classroom into a safe, positive, and successful environment. The materials I am requesting are to be used in small group settings or one-on-one with my students and are meant to increase and bring a variety to response opportunities.
By donating to this project, my students can achieve their highest level of success and can easily access all of their environmental accommodations. When classroom distractions are minimized, my students are noticeably more engaged and on-task. Because of this, I have requested two portable classroom partitions to limit the outside distractors and interruptions that my students face. Other materials, such as the ten drawer rolling carts and folders with prongs, are to be used to organize student learning materials at each table they are being used in a way that keeps all learning materials in one easily accessible area. The small whiteboards and dry erase markers allow my students to have a fun, engaging, and effective way of participating in their small groups.
In addition to these organizational and individual response tools, I am also requesting practical classroom essentials such as large dry erase markers, a pencil sharpener, crayons, wooden pencils, and pencil grips to be used with my students who need assistance with holding a writing utensil. I believe that this project will provide my students with many useful and essential tools that they will use to improve their education every day within my classroom. Thank you!
