I want more books in my library for a few reasons. The first reason is students have started saying "Mrs. Geigle, I have already read most of these books" when they go to switch out their book bags starting in December and January. We don't have a lot of books. Students love to make suggestions of books they would like to see in our library, and these book packs have a lot of those that my students would be excited for. Also, I would love a larger variety for students to choose from. I think they have a better chance to find a book they LOVE and that will help jumpstart their reading. The last 3 years students have been impacted by covid-19. They have been quarantined and taken out of school for various sicknesses. One thing students say they miss is story time at the rug. With this project, I could have enough books to send home to those that are at home for quarantine or just sickness.
