My students seek the adventure that is found within the pages of books. Through this project, I will be able to continue to support my 25 students in this endeavor as we do class novel studies, partner reading, and independent reading. Studies show that students who read at least 20 minutes each day can grow by two grade levels. As I continue to provide a classroom environment that is rich in reading, my students will not only soar academically, but gain vital social-emotional skills. This will come from learning empathy from characters and a growth mindset from historical figures and current role models. This variety of books will allow for connections to be made, adventures to be had, and true learning to take place. My students will be given the opportunity of a lifetime that they will surely cherish as these books will be loved throughout the classroom.
