My second grade student utilize technology on a daily basis for classroom assignments. They also utilize Chromebooks for independent work time while I instruct students in small groups on phonics skills and reading. Technology is a big part of our classroom. With the current Covid-19 pandemic raging on, my students need to learn both in the classroom and remotely at home. We are using devices frequently in class to make sure that all of my students know how to use the technology If they are quarantined they know how to use the programs they will need to use at home to stay up with what we are learning in the classroom. We are lucky to have Chromebooks in our classroom we can use daily. With some additional technology we could use our Chromebooks even more effectively. Having headphones with microphones would allow the students to be able to hear themselves when they are completing activities on Seesaw and Google Classroom, and to record their voices for assignments. Having a green screen for our classroom would do double duty. Allowing me to be able to use it for students who are currently quarantined at home to add some fun and interest to my lessons for them. Also, the green screen would allow students to do fun and engaging projects such as making weather forecasts to learn about weather concepts in our core. Also movie making projects would add a fun spin to many lessons in our classroom.
