The materials and supplies, that I am requesting, already have a home, in the four schools I work in. They just need help to get them their. The books will be used to help students identify emotions in themselves, by using this non-directed way of connecting to individuals in the books. The games will be used to creatively support students to identify emotions, and resilience within themselves by connecting their own experiences to the game. The jars will be used to create worry jars that students will use as a coping skill to identify their worries, write them down, and place them in the jar to later look at the worries they worked through. The rocks, playdough and balloons will be used to create tangible coping mechanisms that students can use right in the classroom when feeling anxiety or anger. By providing these supplies you will help in teaching our students how to begin to learn to manage their mental health on their own. These items will not only be used this year, but for years to come in supporting our student's mental health.
