I am a weights coach at a small rural school district where many of my students have aspirations to pursue a collegiate athletic career. My job as their weights coach is to make sure they are reaching their potential in their strength, cardio, flexibility, and overall health to put themselves in the best position possible to achieve their dreams. Some of the equipment that could best help me get the most out of them chains that we can use when squatting and benching to create more explosiveness for the athletes as well as prepare them to lift heavier weights. The ropes would help benefit these students by helping them with their cardio and coordination. The weighted vest would benefit my more serious athletes who need more of a challenge when we jump rope, do pull ups/dips, or box jumps. The scale would be used for the students in my class that are in weights to lose weight and can weigh themselves everyday to see their progress. The equipment that is being asked for could drastically help my students improve their health and create more interest in being healthy. Some of my students have began to perform better in the classroom and socially because they have begun to feel more confident about themselves due to the their efforts in the weight room.
