  • How Can They Read, Unless They Have Books

    Funded Jan 19, 2022

When scholars fall in love with reading, they are set up for a lifetime of learning.

It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I send this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give, toward "How Can They Read, Unless They Have Books." With the books that you have added to our classroom library, the scholars were able to explore text and express their ideas about the characters and settings in their new books.

Thanks to you, the addition to our class, has made our library look like a magical, inviting, and enticing space where scholars are excited to book shop each week. The books give support to the scholars and strengthened their reading growth as they grow as a student, thinker, and person.

Thank you for helping our scholars to fall in love with reading with the books that you have added to our library. You have set them up for a lifetime of learning.

I appreciate your kindness, support, and thoughtfulness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Williams

Mrs. Williams, "I can't read", I can still hear those three words coming from one of my second grade scholars. As a parent and educator, those words nearly broke my heart, but gave me focus and drive. As a new teacher, I began to look at the classroom library and instantly knew I needed to update and restock our library with books for my scholars. I want books for my scholars to learn to love reading. I want books for them to take home in their book baggies and excited to tell me about their reading when they return to school.
