  • Seeing Science

    Funded Aug 22, 2023

My students were so excited to see the materials come to our classroom! They jumped for joy when the big boxes arrived. We cannot thank you enough for your generous donations.

Our classroom is not neat and organized because of the shelves and organization materials. Now student's can easily access our science and math materials and use them more frequently. The shelves now house our headphone and mice that we just multiple times a day. The bins organize the math manipulatives, blocks, tape measures, rulers, and other math/science tools we need to access all the time. Thank you for supporting our education.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Linford

  • Funding Flexibility Fostering Reading

    Funded Jan 20, 2022

Thank you so much for generously donating for my project. The resources have made a positive impact already. I feel better equipped to help my students because of the products I received.

The students were ecstatic to see the resources. The beanbags came in huge boxes that filled up the back of the room. It was so exciting to open the boxes and distribute the materials. Each student received their own mouse. They immediately said, "Thank you. This will make math and writing so much easier." They have been working very well.

In addition, the books and beanbags and really helped the students get into reading. We read the novels in groups. Having flexible seating has really enabled students to learn in a way that they are comfortable and able to focus.

Thank you so much for donating to our class. It's wonderful to have the supplies. We use them every day.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Linford

Flexible seating allows young minds to be more focused and attentive. Being able to bounce, rock, wobble, lean, twist, and move helps oxygen flow to the brain. Furthermore students are empowered by choice, so the bean bags, yoga balls, and whiteboard materials will provide my students the opportunity to have more control over where/how they learn in the way that helps them focus. Flexible seating also provides sensory input that is especially helpful for my students with ADHD and Autism. At the same time, having a spongy whiteboard eraser, noise reducing headphones, and computer mouse will help my students be less distracted and better able to use the Chromebooks we have. Often the mouse pad is very difficult for some little fingers to click, drag, and select. The materials in this project will greatly help me reach diverse needs of my students. We will use the Legos in our science experiments to make learning hands on at all levels. These tools will help us better use the materials we currently have and provide a safe and comfortable place for students to learn in the way they need.
