Have you ever chosen a specific seat in order to be near an outlet? My 6th grade mathematicians could use these power strips to charge their school-provided chromes from their normal seats, which would eliminate the need for moving away from their classmates just to sit by an outlet. We would utilize the headphones for video explanations while learning or for read-aloud testing accommodations. Also, the fidget animals and sensory rings will help many students have quiet and appropriate things to do with their hands while their brains are busy thinking! A confidential check on the daily moods of students is the goal of the white board and magnets. Students will be able to choose a magnet that I will know is theirs and write to me or place it on a description of their well-being for the day. This will keep situations more confidential than having names on display. We so often quickly ask how people are and get an automatic answer in passing. This set-up is meant to allow students to go deeper than casual greetings and let a trusted adult know if they need something more, as we all do some days!
