I teach High School Geometry and I can see and understand the struggles in my mixed classes. Most of the "regular" students understand the lesson, while my Special Population are still trying to finish the notes, and the RTI and 504 students have already lost focus and are starting to talk or play. I need to constantly move around the classroom to make sure everyone stays on task and to reduce distractions and then run to the board to finish an example or a correction. The iPad would allow me to continue with the lesson and help make corrections while monitoring the classroom and students. I already move around the classroom throughout the whole lesson and independent practice so I think having this iPad would make my teaching top notch and I know my students would want to get more involved in peer-to-peer instruction. I'm a strong believer in allowing students manipulate more technology to fully understand abstract concepts like numbers, variables, and shapes. I am confident that if we get an iPad involved in our daily teaching/learning, my students would want to work the problems, participate, answer, share, and learn.
