This wish would allow our school to purchase LabQuest Mini interfaces to use in our science labs as well as update/replace current interfaces and sensors that the school already uses. Currently the school has to split 8 interfaces with Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Our school has approximately 2700+ students, and between these 3 science classes we average about 300 students per semester that would use the devices. With the increased use of technology and the devices in the classes, another classroom set of LabQuest devices would allow more students/teachers the opportunity to use the devices in their instructional design. These devices allow students to use technology to collect and analyze data from a variety of different labs conducted in their classes. A variety of different sensors can be used with the devices (ex: temperature, pressure, spectrometers, CO2/O2 sensors, etc.) which allows students to develop hands-on experience with collecting data. Currently it is difficult to split a classroom set between 3 science classrooms, so by gaining another set of devices, our department can utilize this technology and allow for more student opportunities to develop real-life skills that are beneficial for students to learn if they wish to continue seeking a career in science.
