Thank you for your supplies of bathroom toiletries (bar soap, shampoo, deodorant, wash cloth, toothpaste, toothbrush and a bag to put them in. When my students saw the items they were so excited. Several of my students are in temporary housing and were so grateful for the items. All of my students are going through
puberty and realize the importance of how they smell. The boys in my class were so thankful for their kits especially using them after gym. The girls liked the cases they came in and a sense of ownership. Especially for my students in temporary housing can now have there own toiletry set no matter where they live. So thank you again for making your generous donations to help my students.”
My boys are so appreciative for the materials I was able to get with your donations. It is hard for boys in middle school to express themselves. By using the journals and pens they have been writing constantly about their feelings and thoughts.
When I showed the boys all the supplies we received through your generous donations they were so excited.
Next step is to reflect on what has been written in their journals and improve on their self confidence. Again my boys are extremely appreciative of the items.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Rojas

Thank you so much for your generosity. The cafeteria can be a lonely place for a student. Even though there maybe hundreds of students eating and socializing, there are many other students eating alone or shut out by other students. Once I informed students that games can be played during lunch period, slowly I began to see a shift with socializing in the cafeteria. Students were requesting games even before they received their lunch. Students were asking if they could sit with students from other classes to play games such as checkers, chess, or Jenga. But the best reward is hearing laughter and seeing students come together.”

Thank you so much for your generosity. Teaching is a tough occupation, but teaching math to middle school students is a challenge. Offering snacks and treats has been great. My students think of it as a race, first one done - wins. I explain it's quality over quantity. I wanna see effort, focus and applying mathematical procedures. Also, when students help each other, they will get an additional energy snack. Students are attentive and willing to work harder for the prize of a treat. By the end of class, all my students have earned a treat! The pictures you will see are from Skittle day!”

Having a snack ready in any classroom can make a world of difference for students. No one can work or concentrate on an empty belly. Once they have a snack, students will be more willing to feed their brain with knowledge. All of this is possible because of wonderful people like you all.
Thanks to the generosity of all of you, my students now have a snack anytime they need one while they are in the school building and they are loving it. They were so happy to see all of the delicious treats and were trilled to be able to have a snack while learning!"”
I am requesting snacks my students need to be successful learners! This project is to ensure no student goes hungry during these hard times. Many families are suffering hardships from the current COVID-19 crisis and families of our students have expressed they are unable to afford food at this time. School is not the same and my students sit in one room all day as their teachers travel into the room to teach them different subjects. Students expressed a need for snacks to help keep them alert and motivated to learn, especially after they exercise and play sports in gym class. This project will help my students to have a snack to help them keep focused and learning successfully and have the energy needed before and after their gym workouts! Many students also have expressed a need for a pencil since they have nothing to write with when they come to school.

It is difficult enough to adjust to learning after such a hard school year last year due to the pandemic, where most of my students were learning from home. Having a snack to help my students feel comfortable will put a smile on my students' faces. To also be hungry while working, is not the proper learning environment for any student. These snack items will help my students have the food they need to concentrate on their classwork and strive just like they did before this pandemic. Students did not have gym class last year, so these snacks will help motivate my students to work hard while exercising.
