  • Math Support = Energy + Endurance + Hydration

    Funded Jan 29, 2025

My students and myself are truly thankful for your generosity. Staying for after school clubs is fun, but my after school club is math tutoring for sixth graders. The students initially attended because their parents forced them and I supported the parents. Now with provided snacks I can give them a little boost and use "sugar-free" candy as a prize for effort.

Thank you again, my students and I are truly blessed with your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Rojas

  • Concept, Collaborate, Create

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

Thank you for your generousity and helping provide the supplies needed for my students to achieve their vision of making a product from concept to actual product.

The smiles on their faces was priceless as we opened the boxes and saw the markers, hats, t-shirts and yarns. The students could not wait to start using the supplies. The creativity was off the wall!

The interaction to get the product made was so good. The students had so much fun making the product. Then the students had to learn how to market their product and advertise it. They are eager to learn more about being an entrepreneur!”

  • Your Donations + My Project = Fun Safe School Year

    Funded Aug 21, 2024

Good Morning and thank you all again for your generosity. I was placed in a classroom with no windows, brick walls and barely any ventilation. The supplies I requested helped me get my classroom ready for the upcoming year.

I love it when my students walk into my classroom and say, "Mr. Rojas the classroom smells so clean." The students and I have a routine, at the end of the day to wipe down the desks and chairs with the Clorox wipes. I asked my students, "Why do you help in wiping down the desks and chairs." A student responded, he likes to walk into a clean classroom. He stated it makes him focus on his work.

So thank you all for your generosity!!!!!”

  • Print It Out - Be Seen & Heard

    Funded Feb 21, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity for the project (printer and paper) for my class. The use of the new printer and supply of paper. My students have been able to expressive themselves and their work.

To have access to a printer, to print out their work and display it our classroom has instilled a sense of pride in my students. They all want to have their work hung up in the classroom. Funny is that my students have also asked for me to print up work for their other classes to hand in. Unfortunately, they don't have any other access to a printer until now, so this has been a great asset to the class.

Again I want to thank my donors for their kindness, myself and my students are truly blessed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Rojas

  • Shut Off Your Phone and Open Your Mind

    Funded Oct 27, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity. The use of the cell phone case has helped dramatically in school. The use of the case is so much more cheaper that other cell phone cases or individual zipper like bags.

At first my students were not happy with me collecting their phones at the beginning of the day. I informed them they did not need their phones and in case of emergency their parents are contacted via the school. I promised my students if they handed in their phones they will see an improvement in their grades.

I am happy to say and they are happy to see an improvement in their grades. I asked my students, "What was the difference?". There reply was they focused better and were not interrupted by constant texts. Now every morning they put their phones in their assigned slots and begin their day.”

  • Make Friends and Stay Sweet

    Funded Aug 6, 2023

Thank you for your generosity and donations. What better way for students to make friends than with games and snacks (candy). Being a teacher in middle school - students ages (11-13 years old) are learning who they are and their likes and dislikes. This age group students break up into groups and isolate other not similar to them and the rate of bullying is extremely high.

What I have done has incorporated playing games and providing candy to students. I have seen students ask other students to play games and slowly a friendship builds. Since I have been doing this the rate of bullying and isolation has slowly decreased.

I am truly blessed and thankful to all donations I have received.”

  • Confusing Times - Let Knowledge Support You

    Funded Feb 13, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity. The items which I received were very supportive to my boys. The snacks and boys helped a great deal.

The Compass Club is a club for boys in middle school (11-13 years old). The boys had a place where they feel safe and comfortable to speak about what's on their mind. Also, we worked on self-esteem.

After a long day in school, I was able to give my boys a snack and recharge them in order to participate in the club. The book - Life skills for tweens has been a great help and is a great source to use in the club.”

    With gratitude,

  • Energize The Mind & Sweeten The Soul!

    Funded Jan 11, 2023

Teaching in a school were some of the students are in temporary housing, some recently came from other countries, and other students come from single family homes. I have learned compassion and understanding go hand in hand. The sudden understand for need also becomes a big part of my day.

The club which I started, The Compass Club is to help provide a safe and understanding place for male students in my middle school. The club allows young men to express their feeling and learn to adapt to there surroundings.

The club meets at the end of the school day which means these young men are hungry. So your generous donates enabled me to provide my kids with a snack to give them energy to participate in the club.”

I am requesting snacks my students need to be successful learners! This project is to ensure no student goes hungry during these hard times. Many families are suffering hardships from the current COVID-19 crisis and families of our students have expressed they are unable to afford food at this time. School is not the same and my students sit in one room all day as their teachers travel into the room to teach them different subjects. Students expressed a need for snacks to help keep them alert and motivated to learn, especially after they exercise and play sports in gym class. This project will help my students to have a snack to help them keep focused and learning successfully and have the energy needed before and after their gym workouts! Many students also have expressed a need for a pencil since they have nothing to write with when they come to school. “Good food is a right, not a privilege, It brings children into a positive relationship with their health, community, and environment” - Alice Waters It is difficult enough to adjust to learning after such a hard school year last year due to the pandemic, where most of my students were learning from home. Having a snack to help my students feel comfortable will put a smile on my students' faces. To also be hungry while working, is not the proper learning environment for any student. These snack items will help my students have the food they need to concentrate on their classwork and strive just like they did before this pandemic. Students did not have gym class last year, so these snacks will help motivate my students to work hard while exercising.
