In kindergarten, the teaching easel will be used multiple times every day. We will use it for shared reading experiences, writing, and the creation of anchor charts. It is important for kindergartners to see exactly how reading and writing work. With this easel, they will be able to see clearly my modeling of what good readers and good writers do. They will be more engaged because they will be able to come to the board during interactive writing or during a shared read to point at the words. With this easel, it will be at their height and we will not need to waste instructional time. By donating to this project, you are not only increasing student engagement and active participation, you are helping create readers and writers. My students will learn to love learning and feel successful at such a young and important age.
