Thank you so much for helping fund my project!! Being able to pair these books to help teach the standards in an engaging way has truly been wonderful! The kiddos love the books and are able to take things away and apply that learning!! They love getting to reread the books after we have our lesson so that they can revisit the characters, the lessons, and what we have learned early in the day or week! I have also been able to use some with my mystery readers who come in to read to the kids which makes the lessons that much more engaging as well! Thank you so much for your support!!”

My classroom is filled with 19 brave little scholars, and it is my job, as their second grade teacher, to create a learning environment that encompasses adventure, wonder, and their interests. It is so important to me to have a wide range of books for my class to enjoy, including books that can encourage positive relationships. I also want the students to feel they can add tools to their imaginary toolkit to help them as they go throughout their educational career. I plan to use these books along with my book, The Ramped-Up Read Aloud, to teach memorable lessons that go along with the state standards. I chose these books because these are the books that Maria Walther suggest with the lesson ideas from her book. I have already taught a few of the lessons from this resource and it has increased engagement within my classroom and the kiddos have loved the picture books and continue to gravitate towards them!
