Thank you so much your generosity in supporting this project. Our students were thrilled to be provided the materials we needed to pursue this project. It is quite a cathartic experience to focus on the principle of Gratitude. By the time were were done, everyone involved felt a sense of community and connection. We explored gratitude from as many directions as we could. From Native American traditions to Rumi and the Sufi's to the Eastern Religions and the Bible based mystics. Every Spirituality and psychology all recognize the healing and transformative power of gratitude. Thank you kindly.”

I am deeply grateful and moved that you answered this sad call for nutritional support. My students mostly come from underprivileged backgrounds and I am amazed at how few of them eat 3 meals a day. Most miss breakfast, some miss both breakfast and lunch. This will be such a gift. Thank you very very much.”
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! Every time I ask my students if they had breakfast or lunch - MOST say no. Often I see kids half asleep with their heads down on their desks- occasionally it relates to sleep/exhaustion but often it is a consequence of malnourishment. IT is a sad fact but our kids are not being cared for with regards to their diets.
I thought that these supplies would last for months, but they lasted for a few weeks. Our kids are hungry, it's sad but true. I could observe the difference in their ability to participate after being offered your snacks, it was striking.
thank you!!!!”

Music is such a necessity for students in our school. Band club has become the favorite part of many of the students school like, and thanks to you were able to continue. There is absolutely no budget for music at our school so it basically up to me and you! I provide lots of my own equipment, but the number of students interested exceeds my ability to keep up with them.
Without donations, this program will suffer greatly. The saddest part is that these kids are so incredibly talented. They have so much talent and willingness to work work hard. I think this needs to be honored, and I am so grateful you do to!”
its with great appreciation that I let you know how fortunate my kids are to be able to conduct molecular biology techniques. After many years at the bench conducting research at institutions like NYU and Rockefeller University, it has been my passion to bring real life science to high school students in NYC public schools. I hope to demystify techniques like DNA cloning and electrophoresis for students interested in science and those who are not. I especially hoped to open up the possibility of participating in the current scientific revolution to those students with and interest and aptitude in science.
Our school had some broken down equipment but no reagents to do this work. However, thanks to you, we got the old electrophoresis units and micro centrifuges working and did some great work!
Thank you!!!!!”

Thank you so very much for your kind and generous gift to my class. As you can imagine, computer technology is essential in all aspects of education- and unfortunately our funding has not allowed for us to meet this need. Thanks to you, however, there are students who will be able to keep up with their peers, and musical projects pursued which would never have happened otherwise. Teachers rely on their students having their own phones and internet access for google classroom etc. In our school- many students have broken phones or none at all- and therefore no computer access. Thank you!!!!!!!”

Thank you!!!! My students feasted on great sound all year long thanks to you! I incorporated sound as a way to calm them, thrill them, get their attention and basically during every slide show that contained video (most).
ITs hard to overstate how helpful this tool has been. The pre existing sound was enormously hard to listen to. It was distorted and shrill, a form of torture (no exaggeration). Students would tune out and get anxious because of this. That all changed with the warm and clear sound we were gifted by you! Thank you!”

Thank you very much for your kind donation. The presence of these chairs was positive on many levels beyond the comfort and physicality. It was a huge moral booster. There was something about spending hours toiling over IEP writing in a clunky old broken-down, hard and uncomfortable chair that felt discouraging on some level. This gift really made us feel like our work was being valued and honored. Not to mention, its very likely we worked longer and harder given the new found comfort:)
Thank you again, on behalf of my Assistant Principal, and the entire staff of the Special Education Department!”
I have been enormously grateful this past year for your kind donation to my teaching. The computer was used every day throughout the day because many of our students do not have working electronics which are essential to some of our assignments. Furthermore, our school does not have laptops to offer the students, so it was literally our only resource. These kids are so well intended, and often are working through enormous personal difficulties - they need a break!
Thank you and on behalf of my students may I doubly thank you.
After 30 years at the bench working at some of the best research institutes in NYC, I have the expertise to teach my students cutting edge science. However, our school does not have resources for a molecular biology or microbiology lab.
Fortunately, exciting new areas of research lie in bio-computing. There is an enormous amount of data available on pubmed and other sites that can be mined in computer based research. This project will enable students to do real cutting edge research as they are introduced to this exciting field. The human genome project is old news now, and we now have the ability to sequence the entire human genome in hours time. Furthermore example, single cell sequencing using 10X technology has made available huge amounts of data on the RNA level- just begging to be analyzed in new and exciting ways.
By taking advantage of this exciting opportunity- my students can strengthen their college applications and demonstrate they are indeed pre med material. I also anticipate that they will be able to publish their work, and compete in contests like the Regeneron Science Talent Search.
