Funded Sep 29, 2022The students worked on a natural disasters unit in class. During their speech and language sessions, this volcano project allowed them to practice and utilize vocabulary learned during the unit, make predictions and inferences on what would happen, read and follow directions, take turns and collaborate as a group in order to successfully create a volcanic explosion. They were beyond excited to become volcanologists and see their mini explosion come to life as this unit really sparked their interest. It is so rewarding to watch their enthusiasm and excitement with engaging activities such as these that help tie in academics with a hands on project.”
