Settle in, breathe, downward dog and warrior 2, after yoga in the classroom my students are more focused and ready to learn. We have all been through a stressful year with COVID and remote learning. Research shows we don't learn when we feel unsafe or stressed. Yoga and movement in the class will give my students the invitation to learn deep belly breathing, movement to breath and the strategies to cope with big emotions as lifelong skills. Yoga and mindfulness movement in my class will help my students cope with trauma and stress. Social Emotional Learning is the focus of our school this year. Yoga and mindfulness movement will help us teach wellness in my classroom. Students love the opportunity to do movement during the day and refocus their minds.
