My students exhibit behaviors such as repetitive behaviors, self-stimulating movements, resistance to change, and atypical reactions to sensory inputs. The items that are being requested will support my students in helping them manage their sensory needs. These items will be housed in the sensory room at my school therefore will be able to support even more students with their sensory needs. The sensory room helps students on the autism spectrum improve their emotional well- being and development. In this environment, students learn to self-regulate their behaviors by utilizing different sensory items. In our school setting, we are in need of more sensory tools to help reduce challenging and repetitive behaviors.
