    My students used and continue to use the supplies from your donations to make projects for communities of elderly citizens in our city. They are learning to appreciate and enjoy helping others.   • Sensational Seating

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

    My KK, 1st grade and 3rd grade gifted students are thoroughly enjoying the various seating options and tactile stimulation your generous donations have provided. When the students were first introduced to the new flexible seating options, their eyes opened wide, they formed "Os" with their mouths and their faces beamed with excitement.

    Since the introduction of new seating options and calming strips, students are staying in their seats more, asking to leave the room for bathroom or water breaks less and they are able to focus on their assigned tasks for longer amounts of time.

    The additional seating opportunities are fostering a stronger classroom commitment to sharing as well as choosing safe and responsible movements in the classroom.”

  • The Big Picture!

    Funded Aug 26, 2014

    Thank you very much for taking an interest in our classroom and donating to our project. Because of your generosity, we can view images and videos related to our studies using the projector and a large screen instead of crowding 12-14 students around a small computer screen. So far, the students and I have been able to view documentaries on ocean creatures, excerpts from Shakespeare performances and images from a local historical landmark. These images have added depth to our classroom studies. In the future, we plan to create electronic student presentations and view them using our new and nifty projector, too. What a wonderful difference you all have made!”

I am thrilled to teach 4th and 5th grade gifted students. My students are enthusiastic to absorb information from and participate in the world around them. Some challenges we face as a class are: learning how to change the way we interact with each other positively to enhance our environment, speaking clearly and confidently to an audience in order to communicate our ideas and opinions, and finally being confident enough to share concerns and suggestions that would have a positive impact on our community with people who could help the students make a difference.

About my class
