In my classroom I have several reward systems. One is my treasure chest for good deeds and hard work. I fill these with toys/fidgets/and pop its. My students have been only getting stuff I find at dollar stores so they are loosing interest. I want this project to help me provide some different items for them to enjoy. I also have mystery bags that go for auction at the end of each month. I hand out dollars (that I printed on green printer paper) as a reward for positive behavior and performance in class. The students earn the cash on a daily basis for such things as attendance, punctuality, and assignment completion. They are charged for things as behavior and missing assignments. It teaches them how their actions effect their rewards or consequences. Third grade also learns about money during this year in their curriculum and this help supplement that learning objective. Finally, I wanted to add that the books will go in the mystery bags, 1 for each, as well as be given to the students who love to read. My students are always asking to take books home and I would like to gift these to them.
