  • Every Child Deserves the Best!!

    I am humbled with all the material donated which I was able to productively use with our students with communication needs. I was able to prepare individualized materials for students across various their communication challenges. Using self-adhesive dots and magnet to hold the prepared cards focusing on individual goals and objectives was very helpful. I can't stress enough how excited I am with the Best Chefs Kitchen Playset. Students from all grades love it and it has been rewarding to see students interested to start communicating, speaking with complete sentences in a very natural setting. Students look forward to complete their target activities/lessons so that they can earn time to play with the kitchen set. These are few to mention. The wireless speaker is very helpful and 'handy' as I can use it in any classroom for a group lesson. I also use it to enhance the audio input with students with hearing challenges. Having the speaker has avoided vocal strain for me, a blessing in disguise. Students find it very interactive learning the days, weeks, weather on a given day using the magnetic calendar. in multiple instances or when students are bored, this magnetic calendar came handy to pretend play students' choice of weather conditions. I am grateful for all the generosity.”

To be unable to communicate with ease & clarity with others is so frustrating. These kids matter and deserve to have their own voice, whether verbal or nonverbal, to express themselves, communicate efficiently & effectively. The material can help them get that voice by providing materials in better quality both in in-person and/or digital formats as needed, like the Kitchen playset. Printer, speaker will help create & present materials in a better visual & audio quality! My students have delays in these areas and IEPs with goals that address these delays. The NV Academic Standards being targeted include: RL3.1, RL3.9, RI3.9, RF3.3, RL.5.1, RL.5.4, RL.5.6, L.3.1, L.3.3, L.3.4, RL.4.2, L.4.1, L.4.3, L.4.4, L.4.5, L.5.1, L.5.1c, L.5.1d, L.5.2, L.5.4, and L.5.5. These standards are aligned with my students' IEP goals/benchmarks and focus on speaking/listening, reading foundation, informational text, literature, and language standards.
