My students with special needs come from a variety of family situations, low socio-economic households, and go without many items, such as water, chips, snacks, to keep them going each day. These items will help set up a token economy and create a competitive atmosphere where my students may earn these rewards and put something in their stomachs to increase learning opportunities. Realizing the importance of proper nourishment as it pertains to a students ability to complete classroom assignments without being hungry and thirsty. The students love and appreciate having the ability to succeed with a treat or drink to make them feel exceptional.
