  • Blankets for PreK

    Funded Dec 9, 2024

I greatly appreciate your generous donations to my PreK classroom. With your donation funds,

I was able to receive much needed items for my students.

My students use their chromebook everyday to play an educational Literacy & Math game. We had ran out of headphones. Thanks to your donations, I was able to get headphones for every student!

My students take a short rest time everyday. Many of my students needed a naptime matt and or blanket. With your donations, they each received a matt and a blanket.

    Thank You 🙂🩷”

  • Strong Start

    Funded Aug 12, 2023

Thanks for your donations to my Strong Start project! My students and I have been using the resources that you funded. Each time I received a box and I opened it, my students were extremely excited when they saw the materials. They have enjoyed playing with the foam, slime, textured touch&trace cards, sensory sand, and magna-tiles building set. All of these items are helping to strengthen my students' fine motor skills while they are having fun. My students also enjoyed the Black Forest fruit snacks during snack time. I have utilized the paper towels and Lysol disinfectant spray daily for cleaning. I greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity in giving. Thank You ❤️”

  • Classroom Supplies

    Funded Nov 3, 2022

My students are using the supplies we have received from my project, Classroom Supplies. Some of the items are wide lined primary paper,

colorful pens, pre-sharpened pencils, and file folders. They have been using the wide lined primary paper and pencils everyday. On the paper, they write the upper/lower case alphabet letters, words to know (high frequency sight words), vocabulary words, and numbers.

My students love the colorful pens. I allow them to write or draw with the pens when we are doing a fun writing or drawing activity.

My students also use the folders to store their daily assignments in and they keep the folders in their cubbies.

My students and I are extremely grateful for your donations!”

  • Diversity Matters

    Funded Oct 4, 2022

My students were extremely excited when they received the molding foam and the More Than Peach Multicultural and Rainbow Crayons. This morning we read the story, "Tiny Rabbits Big Wish" and my students were able to make beautiful illustrations about the story with their Rainbow Crayons. On the back of their paper, they were able to draw pictures of themselves. They were so happy to use the Multicultural Crayons in different shades of colors that depicted their own skin tones. My students also used the molding foam they received. They used their imaginations as they molded their foam into different creations. Thank you so much for your generous donations to this project!”

  • Read, Play, and Eat!

    Funded Mar 4, 2022

My students and I have received all of our items for my "Read, Play, and Eat" project. We are thankful for everything: snacks, paper towels, pink face masks, disinfectant spray, math games, Literacy games, books, alphabet floor puzzles, math floor puzzles, Solar System floor puzzle, USA floor puzzle, Farm floor puzzle, and other floor puzzles. My students were excited each time we received a box or package with our resources inside.

One of my students favorite games that they enjoy playing are the literacy games were they have to use wooden alphabet letters to spell words and match those words to the corresponding pictures. My students also enjoy working as teams to put the floor puzzles together.

We are extremely grateful to our donors and to the Donors Choose program.”

  • Math and Literacy

    Funded Feb 4, 2022

My students were thrilled when I showed them the items we received from Donors Choose! Their little faces lit up as they saw the multicultural books, math related books, the literacy games, and the math games. The multicultural and diverse books are excellent for introducing diversity and inclusion to young students. My students have enjoyed listening to me read the stories and looking at the illustrations. The math books we received are awesome. They are early childhood centered stories related math concepts such as shapes, patterns, and counting. My students have enjoyed playing the Literacy and math games. These games are helping them understand and grasp essential Literacy and math skills. One of their favorite math games that we received is Number Bingo.”

  • Ready! Set! Write!

    Funded Dec 19, 2021

My students and I received the materials you funded for us! My students have already began using the dry erase boards and markers. In math, my students are currently learning about number bonds and writing number sentences. Since we received the dry erase boards and markers, we have been using them to practice writing number squares, number bonds, and number sentences.

When I received my Donors Choose shipment, it was at the end of the day after my students had left. I opened my boxes and put the dry erase boards and markers on my writing center shelf. I also put the Multicultural and Rainbow crayons on the writing center shelf. The next morning as my students arrived, most of them noticed the new items on the writing shelf. One student asked, "Ms. Maxwell when did we get this new stuff?" Another said, "I can't wait to use it!" Later that day, we used the dry erase boards and markers during our math lesson. My students were more engaged during our math lesson! One of my students that struggles with writing numbers, ran over to show me she had written the number seven on her board.

I plan on using our new crayons during an upcoming lesson. I will upload pictures of my students artwork after that lesson activity. I will also upload pictures of them using our new dry erase boards and markers. Again I thank you for your generosity in funding these materials!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Maxwell

My kindergarten students love writing and drawing. They write and draw on the dry erase boards. These boards are great because they have lines making it easier to write letters and CVC words. The multicultural and rainbow crayons are perfect for drawing pictures, coloring an activity sheet, or writing letters and numbers. We are currently running low on crayons because my students use crayons daily. These materials will definately be used in our classroom everyday to further not only learning through writing, but also further creativity and imagination through drawing!
