  • Ready, Set, Shoot!

    Funded Apr 26, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity and willingness to support our students. It means the world to them. Thanks to your donation students were able to learn how to play basketball this year. They learned how to dribble and play as a team!

Our girls learned to face their fear of catching a ball without getting hit. They learned how to shoot and aim the ball in the hoop.

When I explained our students where all the new equipment came from they all said, really? Then, I said, yes! The next day we pumped up all the basketballs and headed outside for our first lesson on how to shoot a basketball and play as a team. They spent the whole year playing basketball during recess.

    Once again, thank you!”

  • Our Learning Comes in All Shapes and Sizes

    Funded Aug 22, 2022

Thanks to you, our students are catching up with reading and math. Since the pandemic started our children needed more time to learn what they missed during this worldwide lockdown. That is why Chromebooks and headphones are utilized every day to support each student's individual learning needs.

We, teachers can differentiate faster and more effectively when we have the proper supplies and equipment ready in our classrooms. Therefore, students can feel confident that they have what they need to learn. Thank you so much for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bond

  • Let’s Search For Books.

    Funded May 6, 2024

Thanks to you, our students are coming to the classroom ready to pick their next book! They are loving their new book shelves and how they can easily access to their favorite titles.

Our students needed this so bad. They want to get better at reading and school is their best option to practice. That's why is so important to have our classroom equipped with the proper furniture and supplies for them to access to new learning. Thank you again for your generosity and willingness to support our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bond

  • Engaging Learning!

    Funded Apr 28, 2022

The project Engaging Learning! gave my students the opportunity to experience different learning settings, such as the school garden and its backyard, to promote their creativity when learning during our Ecosystem block in Science and Social Studies, and introducing Geometry in Math.

Inside the classroom, from setting up our fish tank and new filter for our goldfish to outside the classroom, running scientific observations of plants or drawing geometric figures with chalk in the backyard, each lesson turned into a more engaging, interactive, meaningful, and allowed a broader understanding of the topics.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bond

This classroom project was brought to life by Herb Kohl Philanthropies and 3 other donors.
  • Bilingual, Bicultural, and Proud!

    Funded Dec 31, 2021

I want to share with you some of the many accomplishments and assignments my students and I have completed since we received the happy news our first Donor's Choose Project was fully funded.

Thanks to your valuable donation, I was able to teach virtually for two weeks due to the COVID-19 outbreak in January; once back to in-person learning my students and I benefited from your generous donations to learn a lot about Black History Month. In Social Studies we worked on a Project where students chose a personality who represents Black History to research from and write three things they learned, two thing they found interesting, and one question they still have about their life. A sample of their amazing job was displayed on our bulletin board outside our classroom.

Besides their research work, they too participated in our school's Black Renaissance exhibition where they learned about Billie Holiday's life and music.

May this letter brings you joy!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bond
