The purpose of this project is twofold in design: adding additional content to my technology engineering curriculum by adding drone piloting, programming, and repair activities as well as opening the door to my students to begin taking photos and film to practice video/photo editing. It also has a ripple effect in the school environment by giving resources to creating a drone flight club, as well as allowing Mary Golda Ross sports clubs to film their football, track, and soccer seasons in a new and exciting way. The final benefit this project is that it will create a foundation for students to compete in state and regional TSA competitions that will enrich their training and empower them to push into careers they may never have considered possible.
