  • Coding Through Flight

    Funded Dec 26, 2023

    Thank you so much for the donation of drones with the extended flight batteries. My students were able to see their programs come to life through flight! They learned principles of sequencing, troubleshooting and iterating their programs to make a flight pattern complete missions!

    The excitement level drastically increased in wanting to learn programming and flight paths with the drones. Students are already asking me if we will be using them in the future and my response will be a resounding yes! I am looking forward to using them for many years to come and increasing the fleet for even more students to learn though flight!”

  • Help Our Students Code and Create!

    Thank you for your kind and generous donations to help our students code and create! Last school year we coded virtually on our micro:bits and students learned quite a bit, but the addition of the physical micro:bits was a real game changer. The amount of engagement with the students has increased exponentially. Having the ability for the students to have their code translate into something that works in their hands is truly amazing.

    We were also able to get edison robots as another physical computing device. When I first set it up with the edison mat students were again amazed that code they can write can control a robot and have it interact with the world around it. They are truly excited to get their hands on them and truly create. Having the ability to use lego to add on to their abilities is just an added bonus.

    The students are only limited by their imaginations for what they can do with these donations, so very truly thank you!”

At our school, I am responsible for giving our students as broad of a STEM experience as I can. With these Bit Boards, I will be able to give my students hands-on technology and engineering experiences. The micro bits allow my students to be exposed to an approachable physical computing device that can also program robots that are designed by the students. It will allow students to see their code come to life as opposed to just typing their code into a computer and not seeing any tangible results from their code.
