BMS Space Station
Funded Dec 26, 2023Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our space station project! Your donations of headphones, construction paper, rulers, fine-tip black markers, wide-ruled filler paper, and other materials have truly transformed our 6th-grade Earth Science classroom. These resources have helped bring the concepts of space exploration and Earth's plate tectonics to life.
The headphones have been a game-changer, allowing students to immerse themselves in interactive simulations of planetary motion and virtual tours of the International Space Station. Students who typically struggle to stay engaged during lessons have been captivated by this technology, diving deep into the learning experience. For example, one student, who often found it challenging to focus, eagerly uses the headphones to explore NASA's virtual tools, now confidently sharing their discoveries with peers.
The construction paper, rulers, and markers have enabled hands-on projects where students design their own scale models of the solar system and map out plate movements on Earth. These creative activities have sparked excitement and made abstract concepts tangible. One of the highlights was seeing a group of students collaborate to create a colorful, detailed model of a space station, incorporating features they had researched using the technology and tools provided.
Thanks to your generosity, my students are not just learning about science—they are experiencing it. Your support has made a lasting impact, fostering curiosity, collaboration, and confidence in every learner.”

Funded Dec 13, 2021I would like to thank you dearly for your support in helping my classes. They had a great learning experience and made memories that will last them a lifetime. They not only learned from the project but had so much fun while doing it. They were able to tap into their creative energy and do some great things.
The students had to go back in time and create replicas and environments of dinosaurs from different eras. Each group had to create stories about their dinosaurs, while using vocabulary words from the class lesson as well. They collaborated and worked great together. I was very excited for them.
The students were so excited when I told them that our class had been funded. When they saw all of the material, the questions immediately started to flow. They were ready to begin and already asking about future projects.
Again thank you so much for all that you do. May you all be blessed and we appreciate you.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Carstarphen-Barry
