LEGO Stop Animation Project
Funded Dec 28, 2022My 5th grade students are in love with doing stop animation. I saved this project for the end of the year to help keep them engaged for the last few weeks of school. This project has the students creating art with technology and the Legos that you helped attain for this project.
The students are working in groups of four, working together to design, edit, and create their very first stop animation project. They first have to brainstorm and use their sketchbooks. Then once they have decided on the plan they start picking out Legos and other items to enhance their design. Once they have built the background and or set. They have to start the technology part of the assignment. Using an IPAD and an APP called Stop Motion, they will begin talking photos one at a time. Putting together a completed animation. Music will be selected or students will be editing or doing a voice over.
I am so excited to see the finished projects. I know this was one of their favorite projects this year. I can now complete this project every year thanks to you.”

Lego Building Contest
Funded Dec 28, 2022The Lego Building Contest, gave my students the opportunity to compete in an art and design contest within our building. All grade levels Kindergarten through Fifth grade were represented and there were many submissions from the students. They were extremely excited to take part in the contest and have the possibility to win a Lego prize. Having the requirements be more open, where they could create anything they wanted. Their creativity and innovation came alive in many different ways.
I am very proud of my students and their Lego designs. They really had fun with this project. I hope this experience motivates them to give submissions to more art contests. Thank you all so much for your kind and generous donations to make this possible for our students. I really want to motivate them to be creative thinkers, designers, problem solvers, and always seeing the world through the lens of art and endless possibilities. Projects like this one make that possible with the support of all the donors.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gannon
