Hello, I am a speech therapist at a Tier 1 elementary school outside of Atlanta, GA. I work with students in grades pre-K through 5th grade, with all varying abilities. Some of my students are not able to communicate verbally and require a high tech communication device to help them express themselves. Due to COVID-19 and a lack of funding, my county is unable to purchase the necessary amount of iPads that are needed to give each student a voice. No one should have to go through life without an ability to advocate for themselves and express their thoughts and ideas.
By donating to my project, you will be giving a voice to the voiceless. It's important to remember that simply because someone cannot verbally communicate does not mean they have nothing to say! These iPads will help reduce behaviors and increase positive interactions with peers and adults throughout the school day.
