    I cannot thank you enough for supporting my class with the purchase of Scholastic News! The children love having their own magazine - they feel very grown up! The articles we have used so far are timely and really enhance our current classroom lessons. In addition to the magazines there is an online teacher component that includes brief videos, vocabulary and movement activities that correspond with the magazine topic. It's a total win win!! The children also get time to pick a partner and reread the articles together. They find familiar words and "mark up" phonics components that correspond with our Fundations curriculum.”

  • Building with MAGNATILES!

    Funded May 10, 2023

    Thanks so much for the gift of magnatiles. My students have enjoyed using them to explore new ideas as well as for a reward.

    The magnatiles have been used to supplement programs - for example our year long study of each child's country of origin, for creative thinking center time and as a reward system for outstanding personal behavior and work ethic. The child learned to manage their emotions and work of self control when using the tiles in small groups or with a partner. It was so very generous of you to find this project for the class. This current class is extremely excited to use them as well.”

This board will allow me to get closer for individualized instruction at a time when we are not permitted to sit students in groups. The students are spaced out and cannot see far across to the main board and a few students are awaiting new glasses too. It is challenging to teach with social distance guidelines. Having this board will allow me to sit small groups within the guidelines and give individualized instruction. It will also help those waiting for glasses to be able to see all work better Thanks;)
